Both Jordan and Austin got remote control cars for Christmas this year and they both decided they wanted to make their Pinewood Derby's look like those cars. I thought they turned out so good. They did them all by themselves with just a little bit of help with the cutting of the wood. Jordan's car is a Chevy Corvette. He has really takin' a liking to Corvettes and points them out every time he sees one on the road. Since he likes them so much, I introduced him to the song by Prince, "Little Red Corvette". Now he listens to it constantly on his mp3 player. What have I done!?
Austin's car is a Shelby Mustang. He painted it exactly like his remote control car, racing stripes and all!
Dad helping them get ready for the big race by putting graphite on their wheels.
The track races three cars at once.
The wolf den was in charge of refreshments. I am the Assistant Wolf Leader so we made these cute Pinewood Derby Twinkies. I can't take the credit though, I copied these from someone else's blog. They turned out so cute.
This weekend was Jordan's Arrow of Light Ceremony. This is the highest honor in Cub Scouting.
This is Jordan with his scout leaders, Tara Krupp and Christina Child. His Webelo leaders have helped him a lot this past year. He really loves scouting because of leaders like them who do such fun things with him.
The Ceremony was awesome and I think it made an impression on each one of the boys that will stay with them for a long time.

Tyler also had his last swim meet this past weekend. This is his first year on the Junior High Swim Team and he loves it. He has improved so much from week to week.
He took 3rd place in the Backstroke! Next weekend is the Junior High Championships. Good Luck Tyler!
Jordan also was busy with two basketball games this weekend. They won 42 to 0!
I asked Jordan why they didn't let up on the other team since they were so far ahead, and just let them sore and not shut them out completely. He said, "I just did my best the whole game. Isn't that what I'm supposed to do?"
Now how do you argue with that? The kids got talent. He's named JORDAN for a reason!
Austin also had a basketball game this week that he won too. I just forgot my camera so no pics of that one. I feel sorry for the kid. That happens to him too much. He just gets overlooked and sad to say, sometimes forgotten. I guess that comes with being the third child stuck in the middle. I feel his pain and should know better being a third child myself. I definitely need to do better. Sorry Austin.
I was walking down the hall this week and noticed this sign on Courtney's door.
In case you can't tell, it's a picture saying "Dad is not allowed in her room". I thought that was so funny. She was mad at him because it was Spirit week at school last week and they had Crazy Hair Day one of the days and she wanted Dad to help her make her hair all crazy for school. Well Ron told her that she was too cute to wear crazy hair to school and to just wear pretty ribbons in her hair instead. Well obviously she didn't like that and stormed off to her room and made this sign. She is so dramatic.
I just wanted to take a picture of Courtney before church because I thought she looked so cute. She started saying something to me in sign language. I have no idea what she said. She has been learning sign language in kindergarten this year.
Well that's a recap of our week. It was fun but very busy. Sometimes I wish I had no where to go and nothing to do. I like staying home and just vegging in my PJ's all day. It's been so long. I need a day off!

The corvette thing must be a 10 year old deal. Carson has been obsessed for about a year now. He got a camera for Christmas so now whenever we leave the house he has to take his camera just in case we see one...
Poor Courtney...she is too cute, but so hard to be the only little girl!
I thought the twinkie cars were very cute and clever....even if you copied the idea! The kids loved them.
Oh my, I can't believe how big they are! Looks like you are one busy momma!
So did Courtney win? Did she get crazy hair? I love that each of your kids has their favorite things. It's fun to have one in swim team and another who loves Corvettes and basket ball and another who can do amazing things with a paint brush and racing stripes and one that bans her father from her room. Life is good.
