Anderton Family Reunion 2011

This years Family Reunion was near Twin Falls, ID. Ron's youngest brother, Bret planned it. He came up with an Indian theme that was a lot of fun! My kids were really excited to dress up like Indians and had a lot of input in putting together their costumes. Each family was in charge of an indian activity to do with everyone and we rotated stations.

This is Bret. His family did "Animal Tracking". The kids LOVED this one. He had stuffed animals hiding in the trees and bushes. The kids got a kick out of this!
Michael & Amber had the kids make Teepee's out of sticks.
Rick & Caralee had the kids write stories using Indian symbols.
I take that back. One of my kids was NOT excited to dress up like an Indian. But the rest totally were and couldn't wait for the reunion when they could!
Grandpa Anderton made a good Indian Chief
Our families station was playing an Indian Game called Plum Stones. Tyler was a good sport and made this game for us by burning the plum pits with different designs on them. He also made a game board the same way, burning the symbols into the wood to show what the point value was for each symbol on the plum stones. Then you shook the plum stones in your hands like dice and threw them on the board to see what you got.
David & Cherie's station was Indian face & body painting. They came up with some pretty creative designs! Marc & Melissa had the kids make necklaces with slices of wood they each got to paint. You can see Courtney wearing hers in this picture. I wasn't able to get good pictures of their stations for some reason. :(   When we were done rotating through all the stations, Bret & Tami made us all a yummy dinner of Navajo Taco's and Scones with honey butter for dessert. It was really fun! Thank You Bret & Tami for all the work you put into this reunion to make it fun for everyone. We really enjoyed it!
