They also had a ton of food left over from their cooking segment so we got to fill our plates and eat all we could after the show while we talked to the hosts of Good Things Utah. They were all so cute and nice. They hung out with us and just talked to us for about a half hour after the show. They just seemed so flattered that we would wake up so early and drive down from Idaho to see them. I think we made them feel like real celebrities.
After the show we drove to Tai Pan (my absolute favorite store of all time) and shopped til our hearts content. No husband or kids telling us it's time to go, they're board. We stayed in there for 5 hours! The time just flew by we were having so much fun. We even ate lunch in their Cafe'. It was awesome. Then we went to South Towne Mall and shopped some more. Can I just say that mall rocks! We are so deprived mall wise, in Idaho. We were in the mall so long we even ate dinner in the food court. I never do that when I'm with my husband or kids because we are never there that long. They are always so antsy to go. Karna was a much better shopping companion. She liked going to all the same stores as me and wanted to look as long as me. It was a dream come true. We didn't leave till they kicked us out. Then we went and got a bite to eat at 11pm because we had worked up quite the appetite from shopping. We checked in to our hotel at 11:30pm in downtown SLC. Our poor feet ached but we were still on a high and didn't want to go to sleep yet. So we stayed up talking till 5:30am. We weren't even tiered then, but we knew we needed some sleep so we could function the next day. We only slept about 3 1/2 hrs and we were awake all excited and rested ready to do it again. I swear we don't get out much, we were just running on adrenalin. We had such a good time. We checked out of the hotel and walked two blocks over to the Gateway to check it out. We didn't really find anything there so then we drove up to the Layton Hills Mall and shopped the rest of the day. Before we left for home, we made one last stop at the Tai Pan in Clearfield. What a way to end the trip. The drive there and back went so fast it felt like only 1/2 an hour, not 3 1/2. We never even turned on the radio. We were just having such a fun time talking and laughing. We got home at midnight. It felt so good to get away and do this. Plus I got a lot of my Christmas shopping done. This weekend was just what I needed. I thoroughly enjoyed it and came home refreshed and ready to be a mom again. I am so thankful for my family for allowing me this and Karna for her friendship and spending such a fun weekend with me. It seriously was like a dream it was SO FUN and I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!!!
