We celebrated Independence Day this year with my brother Anthony and his cute family. They came up from Roy, UT and spent the night with us.
We got up early to go to the parade. It was the coldest parade I ever remember going to. I don't know if we will ever get a summer here in Idaho this year. It was 40 something degrees when we left our house. So we bundled up in blankets and sweat shirts. Luckily it got warmer and less windy as the day went on.
We were all so excited to see Jordan in the parade this year. He marched with the D.A.R.E. Graduates. He thought it was so much fun!
After the parade we came home and had a BBQ. We also made some fun treats.
I thought these Bald Eagles were so cute! I got the idea from blog land somewhere but I don't remember where. They are marshmallows dipped in white chocolate, rolled in coconut and have a cashew for its beak and black decorating gel for its eyes and then placed on an Oreo cookie. I also loved theses red white and blue strawberries. They are dipped in white chocolate and blue sugar. They were yummy!
We had Fruit Pizza for dessert.
Red and blue ice cubes with 7-up (white)
Then the kids played for a while in the back yard.
I love this picture of Aaron. He is sooo cauuute!
These pops are red and blue koolaide and vanilla yogurt and whip cream.
Then we took the kids swimming at the Ammon Pool. It was only about 65 degrees but the pool was heated to 90 degrees so they enjoyed it.
Anthony was the only adult brave enough to get in. Mainly because Aaron wanted to swim so bad and he couldn't go in alone. What a good Dad!
After the pool we came home and ate another flag for dinner.
Pepperoni and olive pizza.
Then we headed over to the river to watch the fireworks.
The boys sold soda and had a ball doing it. There were so many people it was and easy sale! They made some pretty good money too!
At 10:00pm the firework show started. Courtney saw the first one light off and then zonked out. Alex saw about 2 or 3 and then he was out. Austin watched about 5 minutes of it and then he joined the sawing logs party. They were up at 6am that morning laughing and playing, crazy kids! So they had a long eventful day. They were very tired. The Firework show in Idaho Falls is put on by Melaluca. It is a 30min. show synchronized to music. It is awesome and so pretty with the water underneath it and the beautiful Temple right next to it. We had a wonderful day. Happy Birthday America!

WOW, you are amazing! I love checking out blog land, but then never really do anything that I found! Looks like you had a fun time!
This is a couple of my children's FAVORITE holiday - even near Christmas some of them choose the 4th. I like the traditions we have and love the time of year so I'm glad to have it come around too. I was with you, though... could have been a BIT warmer! My poor tomatoes! Oh well, saves on the AC right!
You seriously amaze me every holiday! I want to be one of your kids. You make the coolest meals.
I love all of your fun and festive food ideas I'm totally going to try those next year. The 4th just isn't the same here as it was in idaho, the fireworks are so much better there!
I love your flag you made...very cute! I need to make something like that for my door. I still have my valentine's decor up...I guess it's time to switch it out.
I can't believe how old Tyler is getting!
