June 1, 2010 I awake at 0700 hrs and put on my slippers and head out the door in my pajamas. My mission: To obtain Austin's favorite food. A Sausage Egg McMuffin with cheese.
Approximately 0730 hrs I arrive home and wake the troops to deliver Austin his Birthday Breakfast In Bed as is customary in the Anderton household on Birthdays.
MmmMmm good! Breakfast is a hit!
Next on the agenda, the kids dress and prepare for Basic Training.
There are no exceptions. Even the girls in this house must dress for the occasion.
Soon six little boys will arrive and will be equipped with dog tags, guns, ammo and safety goggles.
1400 hrs.: The new recruits arrive at Camp Anderton.
Chaos ensues. Marshmallows are EVERYWHERE!
At approximately 1415 hrs a message comes in from the Command Post.
All new recruits must report to duty. Their Mission: To rescue the injured soldiers and carry them to the Army Hospital.
1430 hrs the new recruits report to the Shooting Range for target practice.
1500 hrs: Cake and Ice Cream is served in the Mess Hall.
Private Austin turns nine. I repeat, Austin is NINE!
1515 hrs: Presents are opened and chaos ensues once again!
1530 hrs: All new recruits take a leave of absence except for Private Austin. He decides to extend his service and resumes his duty to play with all his new toys. Mom receives an Honorable Discharge and goes to take a much needed nap.
