Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter and hope all of you did too. On Saturday we colored eggs, made Easter cupcakes (real ones, this time!) and even started a new Easter tradition. I found a really fun Easter Cookie recipe online this year that had a story to go with it. It was really fun to do and brought a sweet spirit into our home and helped us all to remember what Easter is about. We did this on Saturday night, just before bedtime. We all got into our pajamas and then gathered around the kitchen island to make these cookies. I had all the ingredients and supplies out and ready before hand and had all the scriptures marked so it would go smoothly without interruption. Tyler read all of the scriptures out loud to us as we added each ingredient and talked about it for a minute or two. Then when it was time to let everything mix together for 15 min., we left the Kitchen Aide to do the work while we went in the other room and watched the short video, The Lamb of God. It is 25min. long so we took a short intermission when the cookies were done mixing, and finished them up, and then finished our movie just before bedtime. I was actually surprised at how much the kids liked it and said they wanted to do this every year from now on. I posted the recipe down below for you to try if you would like. I don't know how to make it any bigger though, so hopefully you will just be able to click on it to enlarge it.
Courtney colored every single one of her eggs I gave her, PINK!

These are the real Easter cupcakes we made. They sure were yummy!
Look at what that cheap skate Easter Bunny brought my kids! Valentines stuffed animals and toys! He had to of got them on sale for 90% off or something. Oh well, we still love you Easter Bunny. The kids didn't even notice! Yes, Courtney's bear is bigger, but the boys bears all talk! The kids especially liked their new baseball caps.
After they found all the Easter eggs, the kids reminded us about the cookies we left in the oven over night. So Tyler read us the last scripture that went with them, and they each peeled off their tape from the oven and opened the tomb. Then we ate the hollow cookies. We were all amazed how they turned out. I wish I would have taken a picture but I was too wrapped up in the moment to think about it. You will just have to take my word for it, and make them yourself!

I think we look at some of the same blogs!:) I thought about doing the cookies this year. Last year we did one with eclairs you leave in the oven over night! Don't you love finding new traditions to enjoy with your family! Hope you guys are doing well!

How wonderful. Will you come over and do all of these fun things at my house? I am not very imaginative.
