The Great Outdoors

Ron was in San Diego when our ward had their Father & Son's Campout. Jordan and Austin went with our kind neighbor to it and had a good time. Tyler refused to go without his Dad. He's very technical and kept telling us that it was the Father & Son's Campout. So he was not going without his Father. When Ron got home he felt bad he had missed the campout so he decided at the last minute, he would take us all camping. So within a couple of hours of deciding, we were on our way. It's so much easier to do that now that we have a camper because all our camping gear is already stored in the trailer. So all we have to do is pack our clothes and food.
We all had a really great time. Tyler made us Dutch Oven Potatoes and BBQ Chicken for dinner. It was his first time cooking over the fire by himself. He did a great job. It was very yummy! Then I made Peach Cobbler for dessert.
I love that my kids are getting older and learning how to do so much. It sure is a lot easier on Ron & I. We don't have to do every little thing for them anymore or constantly keep an eye on them.
The next day the boys wanted to shoot their BB Guns. This always makes me a little nervous. But of course, they did fine and say I worry too much. We also played Boccie Ball, cards, dominoes and went on a 4mile hike. We had so much fun singing songs on the hike and just enjoying being all together as a family again.
