Tyler spruced up his poster and came up with a catchier name for his invention in preparation for Regionals. His invention remained the same though.
It paid off...

I can't remember the last time I have ever seen Tyler so happy! This may have well been the happiest day of his life so far. Tyler's invention took 2nd place at the regional competition this weekend. That means he is headed to the State Competition in Boise a couple of weeks from now. Tyler has worked so hard for this honor, and I don't think there is a kid out there happier to go than Tyler. He hasn't put that red ribbon down since he got it. He has taken it to the restaurant with us, at the dinner table, and to bed with him. He keeps telling us how nice the ribbon is. Man, am I glad he won. I don't know how he would have taken it if he didn't. I'm just glad I don't have to find out. My other kids are just as excited but not for the same reason as Tyler. They just want to go to Boise and stay in a hotel with a swimming pool. The competition is at the Discovery Center of Idaho on March 13th and 14th. Way to go, Tyler! We are so proud of you.
(Tyler requested I play "White & Nerdy" with this post. He loves this music video and song, and he proudly tells everyone that he is a geek.)
